Your Mission

As CTO of Odd.Bot you manage to transform the current and future Odd.Bot products into scalable and reliable solutions by ensuring that our technology remains the driving force behind our company’s growth and success. You'll combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, acting as the vital link between our ambitious designs and their real-world impact for agricultural farmers.

You'll connect multidisciplinary R&D teams, co-develop and safeguard our technical roadmap, and translate business objectives into robust, scalable, and impactful solutions for both internal stakeholders and external partners, including customers and shareholders. You will cultivate a culture of ownership and collaboration, inspiring and developing teams to independently excel and realise their full potential.

Core Responsibilities

Driving Innovation and Future-Proofing Technology
You'll be the architect of our technological future, developing and implementing a future-proof roadmap that aligns with our ambitious business goals. This includes pioneering breakthroughs in robotics, AI, and mechanics, monitoring emerging trends for strategic opportunities, and safeguarding our intellectual property to ensure Odd.Bot remains at the forefront of innovation.

Shaping Product Excellence and Ecosystem Growth
You'll be the ultimate owner of our product's functional and technical excellence, making critical decisions that shape its future, scalability, and quality. This involves not only aligning technical efforts with sales, operations, and customers but also actively cultivating a vibrant technology ecosystem by embedding collaboration with external partners, knowledge institutions, and suppliers.

Empowering Progress Through Agile Leadership
You will strategically plan and oversee our development trajectories, championing Agile/Scrum methodologies to optimise and embed efficient processes. As a hands-on Scrum Master, you will empower our talented engineers and ensure consistent progress through meticulous planning, monitoring, and evaluation, ultimately driving our products from concept to impactful reality.

Leading Projects and Fostering Collaboration
As CTO, you'll be the go-to technical authority for all stakeholders, actively collaborating with the leadership team to shape strategy, forging alliances within the tech ecosystem and representing our organisation at (international) forums. You'll also mentor and inspire your technical colleagues, fostering their growth and a culture of responsibility.

What You Bring:

  • Academic Foundation: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a comparable technical field.
  • Business Acumen (a plus): Supplementary business administration or strategic leadership program (such as an MBA).
  • Proven Leadership: Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical leadership roles, with demonstrated success in robotics, AI, and/or software development.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with software development (Python, C++, and ROS2), cloud solutions, and AI frameworks (detection networks in PyTorch).
  • Agile Expertise: Proven experience with Agile/Scrum, project management, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sector Affinity: Affinity with the agricultural and horticultural sector.
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English
